We set out to build the full-size Bronco we had always envisioned—one that combined modern reliability, exceptional off-road capability, and the confidence to be driven anywhere. It wasn't designed as a show truck or built to sit in a collection. It was built to be used.
Over countless hours in the shop and miles on the road and trail, this Bronco became more than just another build. It became the foundation for many of the ideas, standards, and philosophies that continue to shape every SuperBronco today.
Why a 1996 Bronco?
The final-generation full-size Bronco provided the perfect foundation.
With classic Bronco styling, fuel injection, improved comfort, and modern engineering compared to earlier generations, the 1996 model offered everything we wanted as a starting point. From there, nearly every system was reimagined to create a Bronco capable of far more than Ford originally intended.
The Heart of the Build
Every build starts with the powertrain.
We chose Ford's naturally aspirated 7.3L Godzilla V8 because it delivers exactly what a SuperBronco should—reliability, abundant torque, and modern serviceability. Paired with a Tremec TR-4050 five-speed manual transmission and Atlas four-speed transfer case, the drivetrain offers complete control whether cruising the highway or crawling through technical terrain.
